Reviews
Omg yum! The breakfast here is so good! We walked in and there was a 15 minute wait which was not bad. You order your food and drinks at the counter and then they sit you at a table and the food comes out. They have a great system and great service. We got the pork chops, eggs, and cheesy potatoes. It was a first for me having pork chops for breakfast but I wanted to try something true to their menu. The combination of flavors and the apple sauce with the pork was amazing! So good!! This is a must visit if you’re in Berkeley.
Nice breakfast spot by the Claremont Hotel. The place gets really busy sometimes and the wait can take over 30 minutes. Before you are able to sit, you order and pay for your food. This system allows the kitchen to prepare your food much faster as you wait. The food is delicious and service was great.
We got there at 8:30am on a Saturday and there was already a line! You order and pay before they seat you. Baby-friendly (highchairs available) with a kids menu. There's outdoor seating. Seasonal menu offered as well! Food was delicious but I might skip the coffee next time and get one next door. We got the seasonal autumn frittata and blueberry pancakes that came with the lightest orangey syrup.
Very Hometown old fashioned feel and vibe.
The customers near us were kind and engaging. Almost felt like a neighborhood chat over with food.
The staff was thoughtful and very attentive. Loved the Grain Pancakes and eggs. Definitely a return trip soon👍🏼
Good food and fast to come out but I felt like we weren't getting any attention from the servers after that. Our water jugs were never refilled/replaced and we had to get up to ask them for ketchup. I would go back but will be quicker to raise my hand or get up and ask for things instead of waiting. The patio ambiance was nice.
Thank you so much for such a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. Our favorite part of the meal was the stuffing and garlic mashed potatoes. The turkey and gravy were very good as well. Green Beans so fresh. We loved the ease of reheating in the containers provided and lots of left overs so plenty of food. We will be calling you next year in 2024!
I had a pretty unpleasant experience here. First of all, the business model is distasteful to me. You order at the register and you're asked to tip before you have any idea of what type of service you will be getting. Of course their options are 18%, 20%, and 25%. I pride myself in being a good tipper and will always tip 20% if the service is even remotely decent. However, here you're being asked to tip before you get any service at all. Like- you're suggesting I tip you 25% and you won't even come to my table to take my order? This to me seems the height of rudeness and a perfect example of what the American public is sick of these days.
We got our food almost immediately but never received our drinks until I inquired about it. No one EVER came to check on us, not once until I brought it up to management. But of course, I had ALREADY TIPPED! So there was nothing to be done about it.
I will never go back to this place and I think it's unbelievable to suggest a 25% tip before you are served.
It's one thing to go to a coffee shop and understand that you are tipping after someone has made your coffee and you are tipping them and walking out the door. It's quite another to be asked to tip at a 'full-service' restaurant before anyone has helped you at all. I strongly suggest that management listen to my feedback and any one of the million articles that have been written lately about how people are feeling about the dreaded ipad flip.
We came to try their gluten-free pancakes and waffles. The corn flour waffles were a bit too grainy and tough. The rice four pancakes were good, but not the best I've had. I was glad they also offered gluten-free toast. However, the menu has toast served with potatoes, which is too much starch for one meal. The place was tiny and cute and service was good. Overall nice atmosphere with mediocre breakfast.
